Europe’s countryside is full of variety of a small towns and villages, with an ancient history and deep connection to the culture of the continent. Some of them have been inhabited for hundreds of years, but during the past century there has been a massive depopulation of inhabitants from the countryside to urban centers. Looking at the EU as a whole, we can say that people living in rural areas have a higher chance to face poverty and social exclusion. This is a reason for their migration to urban areas. Especially for young people.

Let’s come together and listen to “My local story” and share with us your local story as well. “My local story” is a youth exchange, youth project under the framework of the Erasmus plus programme.

After a successful training course for youth workers about rural development and entrepreneurship, we decided to place youth exchange again in UNESCO place, Banská Štiavnica, which has an incredible story, which became a big inspiration for many Europeans.
